Table Cricket Team Match Report
Brimsham Green School’s table top cricket team competed at the County Tournament on Friday 8th March.
Four schools took part, and all were really evenly matched. After the first two games all 4 teams had won 1 and lost 1, putting everyone on 4 points each.
Brimsham’s team went into the nail-biting final match against Warmley Park Sixth Form and won the toss, choosing to field first. Brimsham did really well with their bowling and fielding. When it came time to bat, lots of runs were scored by the Brimsham players, with quite a few sixes and few wickets lost.
Unfortunately, Warmley Park's more experienced players won the tournament and Brimsham Green School finished the day in 2nd place. All team members received medals and certificates to commemorate their achievement.
Students Dan and Jacob represented the school impeccably as Table Cricket Young Leaders. Along with young officials from other schools, they were responsible for umpiring and scoring matches. Their efforts were recognised with the Lord Taverner's Young Leaders Bronze Award and a medal.
Good sportsmanship was shown by all and everyone had a memorable day.
