PRESS RELEASE: GCSE Level Results
PRESS RELEASE Thursday 25th August 2022
Congratulations to all of our Year 11 students on the grades they have attained today. They have had an incredibly tough two years preparing for their GCSEs and vocational qualifications, many having had absence due to COVID at some point in their studies. The resilience students have shown under such conditions is remarkable.
Kim Garland, Headteacher, said, “Our Year 11 students are talented young people, and we couldn’t be prouder of them as they progress onto their A Level studies at Cotswold Edge, and other vocational college qualifications and apprenticeships. They have demonstrated the ability to overcome some real challenges, and in fact have developed strengths as a result: the ability to work independently; the capability to be proficient users of technology in their learning and revision; and the determination not to let individual set–backs throw them off-course. These are attributes that will serve them well as young adults.”
Of course we are thrilled to celebrate our highest attainers, those students who have secured Grades 7, 8 and 9 in their examinations. Therefore we are delighted that: Elizabeth Ferguson, Ruby Fuller, Finn Hall, Abigail Lear, Kacey Naish, Oscar Paget, Nayan Shaji, Wilson Sillar, and Owen Walker, all secured 8 or more qualifications at Grade 7 and above. Particular mention must go to Alice Grubb and Ella Wright, our two highest attainers – 14 Grade 9s between them!
In addition, though, I would like to acknowledge the achievements of those students who have achieved well, despite considerable personal adversity. Huge congratulations to Ryan, Nathan, Marni and Remi; to be able to complete qualifications and progress onto Level 3 courses is a remarkable achievement, and I want those students to know just how proud I am of them; they have inspired the staff members who have had the pleasure of working with them.
Students have been determined to prove themselves in this examination series, and I am full of admiration for Jacob Jay, Ben Lane, and Viktoriia Oliinyk – all of these students well-exceeded their target-grades, and I hope they enjoy celebrating their success.”
Students receiving their GCSE results today are enrolling at Cotswold Edge for September 2022. This is being done by appointment, and if you have studied elsewhere for Year 11 but are keen to join us, please contact email@example.com for further details. There are still places available to students who are undecided about their next steps, and all students are welcome, regardless of where they studied in Year 11.
Year 5 and 6 students who are at the very beginning of their prospective journeys into secondary education are warmly invited to find out what makes Brimsham Green so special by attending our Open Evening on Thursday, 15 September. Full details will be available on the school’s website. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org for further information.
