Grit and graft get great grades!

The number of Grade 7s, 8s and 9s has blown us away, we have an exceptional group of young people who have excelled! Ms Garland continued, “Students have carried the baton passed to them by previous cohorts, and have had runaway success! I am really proud to say how well our students with SEND and those who have accessed Free School Meals have done; one third of students with SEND achieved Grade 7 or higher in English, and one fifth of those who accessed Free School Meals achieved a Grade 7 or higher in English, too. Our Year 11s have brilliant futures waiting, and we look forward to working alongside them in Cotswold Edge Sixth Form, here at Brimsham.”
As Brimsham Green School’s Year 11s collect their GCSE results today, staff, parents and Governors are celebrating this unique cohort of young people, which includes those who have gained Grade 8s and 9s in Russian, Polish, Italian and Chinese. Students have lived the school’s values of aspiration and independence throughout their time at Brimsham, particularly in the intense lead-up to their exams. “Our study centre was jam-packed every day at 8am, a good reflection of the responsibility students took for their own learning”, reflected Ms Revans, “and look at the impact! We are pleased to share the achievements of our highest performers. Congratulations to: Ollie B, Zoe J, Elijah M, Ethan M-C, Sophie M, Bethany R, Susie S, Dasha S, Finlay S, and Bella T. Between them they secured an astonishing 51 Grade 9s, making a significant contribution to the 25% of all school grades being at Grade 7 and above. Zoe, Ethan and Finlay deserve special mention, since they all achieved nine Grade 9s!” - Julie Revans, Assistant Headteacher
We also want to acknowledge the exceptional achievements of those students who have excelled despite facing significant challenges and personal adversity. The following students embody one of Brimsham’s core values: resilience. We are proud of: Maisie D, Marley E, Evie G-D, Brooke H, Chloe M, Archie P, and Edie S. They have shown us that barriers are there to be dismantled.
As students celebrate their GCSE results, many are already securing their places at Cotswold Edge for September 2026. Our Sixth Form Team has a very busy day ahead, enrolling students onto their Year 12 courses: “I am excited to see what this very able and aspirational group of young adults is going to achieve – they have clear goals and are hungry to get started!” - Mr Brown, Head of Sixth Form at Cotswold Edge.
