Drama
Welcome to the Drama Homepage
Intent: In Drama we aim to create independent learners who take ownership of their own learning and lead and direct others. We encourage our students to be resilient, respectful and empathetic individuals who use drama to explore and challenge the world around them.
KS3 students participate in weekly drama lessons which promote team work, independence and leadership. We encourage students to become confident performers in a safe environment in which we explore challenging subject material in order to gain empathy for those around us.
GCSE students build upon these skills and are encouraged to direct others to a greater extent. They improve the quality of their work through knowledge of practitioners and a range of challenging texts. Students develop different styles of performance and learn to engage emotionally with characters and situations whilst respecting others.
A level students are encouraged to be brave and challenge themselves to create innovative and complex theatre. We ask them to have the confidence to push themselves out of their comfort zone and use theatre as a tool to challenge the world around them.
