KS4 options process: Discover Your Path
The transition from Year 9 to Year 10 is an important stage in a student’s school life. Each student begins to take responsibility for making choices that will affect their future sixth form qualifications, and potential university/college course or apprenticeships.
To support these important decisions, we have developed a ‘Discover Your Path’ programme. It begins in Term 6 of Year 8 with some goal setting, learning of key terminology and exploration of future careers and further study. We expand this in term 1 of Year 9 before the formal options process is launched in Term 3. It is at this final stage where students pick the option subjects they would like to study in Key Stage 4.
The timeline below helps to illustrate the entire process from Year 8 to the end of Year 9 -

We currently offer a mixture of GCSE and BTEC qualifications:
Computer Science, French, German, Geography, History, Art, Art textiles, Business Studies, Creative iMedia, Dance, Engineering, Design and Technology with either Graphics or Product Design, Drama, Food Preparation and Nutrition, Hospitality and Catering, Music, Music Technology, Religious Studies, Physical Education.
