ART YEAR 7

In this topic you will be learning basic skills in art. We begin by looking at the formal elements of art: tone, texture, colour, tints and shades and the achromatic scale. Nearer to Christmas all of Year 7 help to produce a display for the Christmas Carol concert. Click on the link display outcomes to see previous displays.  

Your second unit of work builds on your core skills and allows you to put them into practice. You begin by completing observational drawings in a range of materials. You will be studying  contemporary artists in this unit such as Henri Rosseau, Van Der Steen and Georgia O'Keefe. 

Aboriginal art comes from Australia and has existed for nearly 40,000 years. We learn about why and how the Aborigines make this work and design our own exciting symbols and maps.
