Year 7 Catch-up
The literacy and numeracy catch-up premium gives schools additional funding to support Year 7 students who did not achieve at least level 4 in reading and/or maths at the end of key stage 2 (KS2).
During academic year 2016-17 Brimsham Green School received a total of £13,600 catch-up premium which we used to help fund smaller group classes that focused on literacy and numeracy. The cost to supply teaching staff and resources for these classes was £20,526.
Catch up funding impact data for 2016-17 academic year:

- English Intervention: 83% of students receiving intervention were working at or above their target level by the end of Year 7. Over an 8 month period students' average reading accuracy improved by 12 months, allowing them to close the gap between their actual reading and chronological age.
