Literacy

Welcome to our Literacy Homepage

On this section of the website you will be able to access a wide range of information about literacy at Brimsham Green School.
Once a fortnight every teacher and student in the school will focus on one aspect of literacy. Level 1 factsheets describe the basic use of this aspect of writing, whereas Level 2 factsheets are more detailed. You can see what the fortnightly literacy focus is, as well as access the suggested materials to support your child to improve upon or develop this aspect of their writing. These include factsheets, PowerPoints and Internet link suggestions. You can also access information about what activities you could try to improve specific areas of your child’s reading and writing with the One-to-one Literacy Tutorial Guide. There are also articles about the importance of literacy and recent research about the subject.
