At Brimsham Green School we believe that Physical Education is a very important subject. We aim to deliver a broad curriculum that enables all students of differing abilities to access, be challenged and enjoy Physical Education.
We strive to educate our students about the importance of a healthy and active lifestyle to ensure lifelong participation; whether it is for competitive, social or fitness reasons.
In Key Stage 3 all students follow a structured and varied curriculum where they develop their knowledge and skill levels in various sports and activities. They also develop their communication and leadership skills within key stage 3, which we know are key life skills. In addition, the will learn the basics of sport science and how to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
In Key Stage 4 we offer an options programme as a means to try to promote this lifelong participation, by giving students a choice of the activities they like to participate in and to try new sports. We also run examined PE courses in sport science and in dance.
We also strive to provide a wide range of opportunities to participate in extra-curricular activities; where students can gain success in being part of a team or improve their fitness and social skills by participating in a club.
